DIRECTORS
Nuno Piteira was named the 2010 Georgia State Soccer “Select Coach of the Year". He has directed two of the state’s top youth clubs over the past ten years and has coached multiple state cup winners along with many teams representing the state of Georgia at the Regional and National levels. He has also coached and developed numerous players for our State/Region/National youth teams.
Nuno has a background in Education from Coastal Carolina University and holds a US Soccer "A" license, the US National Youth license, and the English FA Preliminary Certificate.
Coach Piteira came to Atlanta in 1999 to Coach the Atlanta Silverbacks professional Soccer club, where he was for two years, guiding the franchise to its first winning season. Before coming to Atlanta, Piteira coached the Charleston Battery, leading the club to its first Professional National Championship in 1996. In six and half seasons as a professional coach Nuno compiled a 92-54 win/loss record. He was the 1995 Atlantic Division Coach of the year, 1996 National Coach of the year and 1997 Eastern Conference All Star team coach.

Before his professional coaching career began, Nuno spent seven seasons as the Assistant Coach at College of Charleston (two TAAC conference championships and one NCAA DI Final Eight finish) and Coastal Carolina University (three Big South Conference championships and one NCAA DI Sweet Sixteen appearance). He was also Head Coach of the Women's team at the College of Charleston in 1998 and led the team to its first post season appearance. While in the Charleston area, he also served as Director of Coaching at Trident United, one of the states most successful youth clubs. He coached two state championship teams in three years. Nuno started his coaching career at Ketih County Day School in Rockford, Illinois where he led the school to back-to-back small school state titles.
Coach Piteira is originally from Portugal where he played his youth soccer at world famous SL Benfica. He played his college soccer at former NAIA (now DIII) powerhouse Rockford (Illinois) College. After college, he played semi pro ball in the LASA league of New England.
Nuno has studied under such greats as Carlos Queiroz (formerly Portugal National team Head coach), Jorge Jesus (currently head man at SL Benfica), Graham Souness (Former Balckburn, Newcastle boss).

Dan Farnham has been the Head Men's Soccer Coach at Reinhardt University since 2001. Since then he has also been actively involved in the youth soccer clubs of Cherokee county as a coach, trainer and Director. Coach Farnham is a nationally licensed USSF coach.
Coach Farnham grew up playing soccer in Wheaton, Illinois. He played in the competitive Chicago land youth select system with the Wheaton Wings and later with the Chicago Croatians Soccer Club. An Illinois high school All-State selection Dan played DI soccer for the Panthers of Eastern Illinois University. One of his most memorable youth experiences was a 5-week tour of Europe competing in the Gothia Cup in Sweden, the Dana Cup and the Norway Cup and visiting and training in Holland and Russia.
Dan played professionally in the United Soccer Leagues for the Myrtle Beach Boyz (SC) in 1995 and the Wilmington Hammer Heads (NC) during the 1996 season. Both teams advanced to the national semi-final rounds in their inaugural seasons. The Hammer Heads lost to Piteira’s Charleston Battery in the 1996 semi-finals.
After he finished playing, Dan turned his full attention to youth coaching and the opportunity to work in the front office of a USL Soccer Team. He relocated to Charleston, SC in 1996, where he was the Director of the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Department’s Youth Soccer Program, while he also worked for the Charleston Barttery as a marketing and promotions coordinator and as the Voice of the Battery.
In 1999, Coach Farnham moved to Atlanta to work for the Atlanta Silverbacks as their Ticket Sales/Public Relations Director and Voice of the Silverbacks. He was also the Recreation Director of Coaching at Stone Mountain YSA. He held both positions until 2001 when he accepted the Head Men’s Soccer Coach position at Reinhardt University.
Coach Farnham and his wife, Lisa, live in Canton, GA with their daughter, Madeline.

Heath Padgett - Goalkeeper Director
Heath Padgett is a Middle School Science Teacher and the Head Coach for the varsity boys and girls soccer teams at North Georgia Christian School in Gainesville, GA. Heath is also the current Director of Goalkeeping at Dacula Soccer Club and has worked for several other local camps in the past: Clayton State, TYSA, Lakeview Academy, and Lanier Soccer Association.
Prior to coming to NGCS, Heath was a four year standout at DII powerhouse Clayton State University in Morrow, GA. Training under Warren van der Westhuizen, he was a two-time All Conference selection and All Southeast Region Selection in 2005. Padgett finished the ‘05 season with a .73 goals against average, ranking him 13th in the nation. He graduated in 2007 with a BA in Integrative studies and a minor in English.
A native of Gainesville, GA, Heath was a four-year starter at Johnson High School and helped lead his team to three state quarter final appearances. He played his youth soccer with the Norcross Fury and GSA Phoenix.
Heath lives in Gainesville with his wife, Erin, and their daughter, Lexi.
